VAULTING

Vaulting is a combination of dance and gymnastics on horseback.

Commonly seen in equine circus acts, vaulting allows a student to not only learn to ride, but also perform.

A specially-trained horse works in a circle on a lounge line while students perform compulsory routines and freestyle moves.

Vaulting is both fun and challenging and definitely a different form of “riding.”

Vaulting offers the following benefits:

  • Developing teamwork skills
  • Increasing body awareness and coordination
  • Improved ability to concentrate
  • Perceptual learning
  • Increased confidence
  • Cognitive control

Vaulting participants are offered the opportunity to compete in the Pacific Northwest against other vaulting program students, as well as to demonstrate their skills at and other Regional events.

NOTE: Vaulting students must join the American Vaulting Association (AVA) as part of the “Equestrian Crossings Riding Club” in order to participate in vaulting lessons.

Vaulting is available to children and adults of all ages and “abilities”.
